A: I have been a professional photographer for over 10 years now!  I started using a 'fancy camera' when my kids were babies and when people noticed my work they asked me to do work from there.  I am always learning and growing in new ways.  For the first 10 years it was a side business to my Instructional Technology teaching career, but in 2024 I decided to make it my full time career and devote more time,  energy, and creativity to my clients.

A: I have photographed over 850 sessions and well over 100 weddings.  You're in good hands!

A: That's exactly right! Your session fee of $200 covers the time spent in the prep, art direction, photography session itself, as well as the editing time. And once I deliver your custom slideshow showcasing the photographs captured during your session, you will then have the choice of which collection you would like to order. That way, you get exactly what you want. Plus, there's the added benefit of having access to a complimentary artwork credit in each collection. Simply put what you want to order for physical artwork into your online gallery cart, apply the credit code, and have your artwork shipped directly to your house. Easy.

A: The complimentary artwork credit is easily applied to any artwork that you want, in addition to your chosen digital photographs as part of the collection ordered. I'll simply send you a code to use for your artwork credit, then within your online gallery - you will put whatever artwork that you would like into your cart, then checkout using the credit code.  So as an example, if you get a $100 print credit and want $400 worth of physical heirloom artwork, your total artwork order will only be $300. If you have any questions about this, of course, please let me know.

A: This might start getting a bit technical, but I personally use two Canon r6 mirrorless cameras with prime lenses.  35mm and 85mm are my go to focal lengths. Both are on me almost all times throughout your session so I never have to worry about changing lenses, switching memory cards, or changing batteries. Every moment matters - and this is where the 10+ years of experience really kicks in.

A: Totally! But I want you feeling 1,000% comfortable and excited about the quality of your photographs before placing orders on those. That way, you only order exactly what you want, when you want, and when you know with confidence that they are going to look amazing on your walls and in your fine art heirloom albums. And all of this is done & ordered right through your online gallery! 

A: In 2019 I moved out of my studio space and made a change in my newborn work from posed studio photography to lifestyle photography. I was inspired by a photographer, Elena Blair, who said, "Lifestyle Newborn photography allows you to focus on connection over perfection. You can stop worrying about whether or not your baby is going to sleep or how to pose babies. Instead you can focus on tiny details, real moments, and the simple beauty that is a newborn baby." This really spoke to me because I had way too many newborn sessions in studio that took hours trying to get the perfectly posed, sleepy shots... All while parents attempted to wrangle restless toddlers.  Lifestyle sessions are so much more enjoyable and relaxed, and in my opinion, more beautiful because they are authentic.

A: Lifestyle Photography focuses on the love and connection of your new, growing family in the comfort of your own home. It is a combination of directing and posing family members, storytelling, and candid moments. I aim to capture every member of the family interacting with with the new baby. I love it when pets join in too! They are a part of your story. I will also capture beautiful photos of your new baby alone, usually in their crib and/or on a bed or blanket. I will bring a variety of wraps, but something as simple as a solid colored onesie makes beautiful photos too. In-home sessions are ideal for siblings where they can be comfortable in their own environment and get lots of breaks when they need it. Sometimes I even capture some great shots of them alone in their own space.

Ideal areas in your home to shoot are the nursery, master bedroom, and living room, or anywhere else that gets good natural light. I'm always seeking the light. If your house does not have abundant natural light, I may do lots of shooting near a window. If your master bedroom doesn't have nice light, we may choose to shoot in a guest room that gets better light. Does your house need to be spotless? No way! You just had a baby. First of all, we won't shoot in your entire house, so don't worry about areas we don't need to shoot in. If I get there and see a room I'd love to shoot in because of great light, we can tidy it up. I don't judge. Also, don't be surprised if a move a piece of furniture, or two. It's all about the light and direction I shoot to the light. There could be a need to move a couch or chair to a spot where the light sits better on my subjects.
