1. Say hello
Reach out to me through my website, email, or phone to express your interest in booking a headshot or branding session. I’ll answer any initial questions and provide you with all the details you need to get started. If you have questions about the type of session to book (Headshots, Branding, Products, etc), I can help you determine the best fit.
3. Plan it out
Decide what kind of look you're going for, and what you want to portray in your images. You can decide if a studio session is right, or something on location somewhere. I can help you plan your session to ensure you’re fully prepared. I’ll help you select outfits, share tips for hair and makeup, and discuss the type of look and feel you want for your headshots.
4. Your portrait session
On the day of your session, we’ll work in my studio or on location to create a variety of professional and polished images. I’ll guide you through poses and expressions to ensure you look and feel your absolute best.
Q: How does it work?
Once you're ready to book, it is helpful for planning purposes if you have an idea of what you want up front. That way we know how many outfits, location(s), time to plan for, etc. However, you can pay a $150 nonrefundable retainer fee, then wait until you see your images to decide how many you would like to purchase.

5. Your Gallery Reveal
PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT SESSION (STUDIO): Within five days of your session, you’ll receive a proof gallery with "soft edits" to review. From there, you can select your favorite images by adding a heart to them and decide how many you’d like to purchase. Once your selections are finalized and your Image Collection is purchased, I’ll complete the final edits and upload the finished images to a separate folder in your gallery, ready for you to download.
BRANDING SESSION OR ON LOCATION HEADSHOTS: Within two weeks of your session, I will have your gallery with finished edits ready. Depending on the package you choose, you will either choose your favorites to download, or if you purchased the entire gallery, there is NO CHOOSING 🎉. They're all yours! 📸

Common FAQs
Q: How long have you been a photographer?
A: I have been a professional photographer for over 10 years now! I started using a 'fancy camera' when my kids were babies and when people noticed my work they asked me to do work from there. I am always learning and growing in new ways. For the first 10 years it was a side business to my Instructional Technology teaching career, but in 2024 I decided to make it my full time career and devote more time, energy, and creativity to my clients.
Q: How many SESSIONS have you photographed?
A: I have photographed over 750 sessions and well over 100 weddings. You're in good hands!
Q: Do I have to choose a package up front?
A: It is helpful for planning purposes if you have an idea of what you want up front. That way we know how many outfits, location(s), time to plan for, etc. However, you can pay a $150 nonrefundable retainer fee, then wait until you see your images to decide how many you would like to purchase.
Q: Do you have favorite "on location" spots?
A: I do! I love shooting in Downtown Harrisonburg. If we're shooting outdoors, there are so many spots to wander around and shoot, depending on the look you're going for. There are also great indoor spots like coffee shops or inside the Agora Market. I also love Showalter's Orchard Greenhouse. They do charge a fee, but it is worth it! I've even booked Air BnB's for Headshot and Branding Mini sessions.
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: This might start getting a bit technical, but I personally use two mirrorless cameras: Canon r6 and Canon r6 Mark II with prime lenses. 35mm and 85mm are my go to focal lengths. Both are on me almost all times throughout your session so I never have to worry about changing lenses, switching memory cards, or changing batteries. Every moment matters - and this is where the 10+ years of experience really kicks in.
Q: Do you offer DISCOUNTS IF I BOOK MULTIPLE SESSIONS?
A: Yes, I do! Some people like to shoot bi-yearly, or quarterly to keep content relevant and fresh. I offer discounts on multiple sessions committed to within a year. Please ask for a custom quote.
Q: what happens if the weather forecast isn't great?
If we're planning an outdoor shoot and the weather forecast is calling for rain or storms, we will choose a date to reschedule. Most times of the year this isn't a problem, but keep in mind that certain times of the year are busier than others - fall/spring. I'll be as flexible as possible to get your session in quickly.
Q: How do I book you for the portrait session?
A: Love that question the most! To book me, simply let me know: 1) Choose a date, 2) Sign a contract, 3) Pay retainer 4) You're booked! After that we'll do phone consultation to do some planning and we'll be ready for session day!
